I once had a near-death experience.
It was the last day of class, before the study-leave started. I planned to meet my partner in Damansara before I went back to my home, and come back to campus just in time for the exam. I was riding the Naza scooter, took the NKVE route from Shah Alam. I packed my books and a few stuffs inside the box behind the scooter seat. And who would’ve thought that stupid box would very much SAVED my life.
I was riding at a normal speed, carefully.
Just a few kilometres away from TTDI exit, I suddenly heard a very loud bang and felt like the world come crushing down on me. I was hit from the back and were dragged few metres away! It all happened so fast, the next thing I know, I’m in the middle of the street, lying there, and my stuffs from the box already scattered all over the road. The first thing in my mind was: It’s a highway, and cars are fast, so I better move to the side of the road.
Eventhough I’m already bleeding all over and felt like going to be unconcious, I put myself together and scooched over to the sideway. The last thing I want to be was get hit twice. And I collapsed. I remembered somebody held me up and brought me into his car, asking me to stay awake. But it just seemed like the hardest thing to do at that time.
The next thing I know, I’m in the Damansara Specialist ward, and the nurses were attending to my wounds. I quickly asked the nurse to call my partner, who was working in Klang that time. He was shocked to hear that news and came as quickly as he can, leave his work just like that.
Soonest he arrived and saw me lying there in the ward, he cried. It was among the first times that he cry over me. He was there help me changing into my outfit, and put me to sleep. I cried too, coz the pain was intolerable. My whole body aches, and I got stitches on the elbow, and the bleeding on the wound just down my knee wouldn’t stop.
My partner left me for a while to take care of the scooter, which was nothing to salvage. During the accident, I lost my Elle watch, his digital camera and few other valuable stuffs, no thanks to the people who came to stop and help. The driver who hit me ran away, and I was taken to the hospital by a gentleman in Beamer (said the nurse). Thank God for the box behind my seat, or else it would have been my brain that scattered all over the road. Nauzubillah..
The doctor said I got nothing to worry about as all those wounds were the only I got, no broken ribs, internal bleeding of that sort. My partner paid a handsome RM400plus for my admission and treatment at the specialist. I just don’t dare to go home and inform my parent just yet, so I decided to stay at his house.
I was lying on his bed, trying to get some sleep, and he sat on the floor, didn’t sleep a pinch. The only thing he did was staying up all night, wiping the non-stopping bleeding of my leg (and his tears come running down as fast as the blood on my leg), changing the cotton every hour, feed me with food and medicine and asking if I ever needed anything. He was very sweet during the whole accident thingy. Well, hard times are still sweet for those are in LOVE..
The next day we went to Putrajaya hospital, to do follow up and he has been very patiently waited for me. I thanked God that he was there with me, that’s all that mattered.
After the incident, it hit me that your life can be taken away any second. So there’s nothing more valuable than being with your loved ones and embrace this beautiful life. Well, that’s what I intended to do, until an uninvited guest come along 😉
Ps: Oh yeah, I can be mean, if the situation demands it. And to whom it may concern, always read blog(s) at your own risk! 😉
