My ‘closed’ open house (boleh ke camtu?) last weekend went on smoothly (sorry, there was no invite! It was strictly for families but if friends nak datang I won’t say NO. it’s just that I wouldn’t extend a formal invitation)
Started cooking as early as 7am. Me and mum (ahli2 wajib since as you all aware there’s no other girl in the house!) prepared the soto ayam, nasi impit, kuah kacang, masak lodeh and bubur kacang durian.
I was dared to try the kek lapis cadbury after tried it the other day (courtesy of Mira’s boyfriend who brought it all the way from Sarawak) but hahaha, I won’t reveal the taste. Pls kidnly get testimony from Eda and my little cousin Luqman (apparently the only TWO people that keep on eating that and gave positive comments) 😉
don’t ever, ever judge a cake by its herot berot design ye 😉
We had a great time, nonetheless.
Fara, Ani and Fara’s sis Fatin were the firsts to arrive. And then there was Eda (nasib baik I was kind enuff not to answer “baju kurung” when she asks what to wear – saje nak kenekan die).
Soonest as they left, my big family pulak raided the house. The usuals : Acik and family, Induk and family, Mak Teh and family, my grandmum, Busu and family, Pak Ngah and family.
Mira and boyfie dropped by after that. And so was Diana whom birthday was a day before (HAPPY 26TH BIRTHDAY, D!! I LOVE YOU!) 🙂
After a whole joyous gathering, we pushed off to Atam’s house in Kajang where we had sate (never wins my heart), laksa (still, not a big fan), udang masak merah, nasi lemak, nuggets and fried chicken. Mak Long and family were there too, but not for long.

After Maghrib, two families and my grandmum went to Jusco Balakong to tryout beds which my grandmum had voiced out before. My dad could score his 35% employee discount at Getha, so there we were, in its showroom. Granny tried almost all of the mattresses and (of course) she has to settled with the highest price in the lots la kan? 😉 We were contemplating to raise another fund amongst family members to accomodate the whooping price of RM5k for one mattress (we’ve raised before but that amount was not even close to the mattress that granny has chosen). See la how.
Balik, my dad’s side of family plak datang till wee hour. I dozed off at the couch after settle basuh pinggan semua. Very2222 tiring day.
The next day, went over to Subang, visited my two aunties. First house: soto with sup daging, bergedel, sate and gizillion arrays of kuih raya. Second house: lamb chop (I know I’m biased, but I always like this house more), chicken grill, asam pedas, caramel pudding (see, I have all the rights in the world to be biased!), mixed veggie and of course, sate.
my apple, Nana (they called her Nabilah everytime she puts on tudung. cerita Indon apa eh?)
I left home with an empty stomach and coming back with a stuffed one.
And, I get diarrhea today. Serves me right! ;(
