Tip #1 : Go vacay with your bestest friends of the world. Ditto.
Eventhough our picked-out vacay spot this time was a place I often visit, somehow the feeling’s turned out differently coz I was with my 3 bestest friends in the whole-world. You can try this if you don’t believe it. Doesn’t matter where you go, what you did, what matters is who you do it with (scratch that blue-image outta your brain now!!) 😉
We started out journey after work Friday and bunked at my gram’s house at Rembau. Before, beraya at my house and fed ourselves with my mum’s delicious mee soup. That night, we thought want to watch Orang Minyak, but we decided to call it a day when the scenes in it get more and more ridiculous.
Keyword of the day (applies only to vacay members): Otromen-like fire action in Orang Minyak movie and weird sounds being made during sleeps 🙂
Tip #2 : If you must travel, do travel in style.
This applies to Mimi’s travel hand-luggage and Lacoste mary-jane pumps, Fara’s brand new HTC PDA, a reservation at 4-stars hotel with exquisite design and of course, an Integra to escape us away from hustle bustle KL.
Tip #3 : Always find water. Wherever you may go.
The hotel we reserved is situated in the heart of the city but it didn’t stop us to do the dunk and dip activity. We visited the overly famous A’Famosa Waterworld in Tampin but boy, a RM14 nasi ayam memang tak worth it but it comes with the entrance fees, so we can’t complaint much. All in all, we tried almost the rides in the waterworld but the funniest thing was when all 4 of us went up to try that particular slide ride and went down successfully, and lepas tunggu punya tunggu, Mimi tak turun2. Turned out she took another way down i.e via stairs! Hehe.. Ps: Mi, ride tu sbenanya paling tak takut skali antara semua! 😉
Tip #4 : If you wish to commomerate your moment with the sunset, pls makesure you woke up in time from the evening nap as to catch one!
I bet the tip is self explanatory. We woke up a bit late from our quick nap only to find that the sun already set. And if I may add, makesure your camera battery is fully charged or else you’ll end up using the handphone camera to snap the pics!
Tip #5 : When you visit a fresh seafood land, do savour on one. And please make a killer otak-otak joke to the waiter.
We went to the wajib-pergi Umbai seafood and ordered siakap steam, sotong goreng tepung, kailan ikan masin, udang masak merah and pari bakar. The food was okay but I had better share in other kedai before.

When the waiter politely asked “Akak, ni otak-otak akak ke?”, pls kindly answer innocently “Tak, otak-otak akak kat sini” and pointing at your head. You will leave the waiter puzzled at least for 5 minutes. Trust me on that 😉
Keyword of the day : Otak-otak joke, Kucing Mat Sentul.
Tip #6 : Nothing should stop you from going karaoke. At whatever cost. Not even a hairy-big-bald-lounge-bouncer.
See..karaoke has always been a compulsory part of any vacay I’ve had. We went from Jetty karaoke to the one in the city and we managed to find one that wasn’t full-house (orang Melaka ni happening sangatla). But we were dissapointed when found out that the price is a bit higher compared to the one at the Jetty and exceeded our budget (RM40 per hour per room). But, when we finally decided to bolt, the big-bald-bouncer kindly offered us a free room at another karaoke joint (across the street) but there’s a catch. We MUST order the drink. Suspicious as it may sounds, we followed the bouncer to another joint nonetheless, yang memang scary looking from outside, apalagi from the inside.
He specifically said that we have to order a jug of coke. I insisted on 4 cans of coke, but he counter-insisted that they don’t have one of those. Sepanjang-panjang yang dia dalam bilik time setting up the karaoke set, I watched guard at the door. Dahlah pintu tu takde lock! Muka masing-masing dah cuak but we continue with our intention to sing our heart away anyways (or perhaps we’re following the itinerary I drafted too rigidly?) Soonest the bouncer and the manager leave the room, me and Mimi straight pulled the nearest sofa to block the door to prevent anybody from entering and I sit still on the sofa unbudged throughout the whole hour.
See, I wasn’t kidding. We sat on the sofa blocking the unlocked door throughout the whole karaoke session.
You think we want to use the karaoke room more than one hour? You bet we won’t! We left the lounge hurriedly after a precise one hour period, leaving the RM36 jug of coke untouched and laughing our heart away to our “berani tapi takut” action.
Oh and yeah. We sang to rock kapak and dangdut too that night. What a night.
