1. Drive at 70km/h (at all times) and (always, always) give way to pedestrians.
2. Kalau setakat nak drive Honda City and Vios ke bawah, lupakanlah niat murni tu or you’ll ended up tension je nengok2 kereta they drive kat sana (read: RX8, Imprezza, Celica, Skyline, Lancer tu mcm diorang punya Wira or Waja kat sini). Luckily we drove a Wish!
2. Threesome is so0ooo0000 nooooooooot cool! Ever!
asked me to accompany during his Sundown Marathon event. As early as 5.30 am we pushed off from Serdang. He drove at , coz we rili222 don’t want to stuck in Tambak Johor traffic later. Borak2 and tetibe je rasa mcm dh sampai. 9am, we stopped at JB, had our brekkie, beli DVDs (cheap cheap!) and change some moolah.
The traffic to S’pore was ok la. Jam tu mmg biasa la. Had to buy the access card (which will be used wherever: shopping malls, carparks etc) and register our car. Kat imigresen tu, she buat lawak apatah and the officer was (cynically ) like “Nak saya hantar masuk office ke?”. Ohh sungguh unfriendly mereka itu. Sampai2 je straight drove to Changi coz he wanted to checkout his running area. Then cari hotel, pusing2 area Changi semua fully booked (coz of event tu la kot), then moved on to Tampines area, kat sini semua banyak condo and apartments je. Made our way to Beduk area, semua fully booked jugak. Pergi area S’pore City, pun full and memang taknak stay sana coz quite far from the eventplace and in the end we settled at Geylang Road – Hotel 81 (superior room for SD$ 119).
~Kat Changi Village~
Check in je trus siap2 nak keluar balik. That time clock showed 5pm, semua dah exhausted. Nak2 pulak mamat tu nak lari jap lagi. Then lepas refresh ourselves, gerak gi Changi balik and lepak kat event area. It was Singapore’s first night run organized by Adidas (and many other more names). Lepak2 ngan his friend Armin Pahamin (Rejab), had dinner nasi ayam penyet (SD$4) and siap2 nak lari. He ran started 8.30pm and me and her made our way to Geylang nak shoppppingggg!
~Before he started running~
Jalan susah sikit coz pusing2, but we managed to get to Orchard Road jugak. Pergi Singapore Plaza (tengah sale! But price after sale sama ngan harga kat Msia so no point buying). Lepak2 Starbucks and jalan2 kat Orchard Road tu. KIra ala2 cam Bintang Walk la, with lots of people keluar masuk shopping malls, lepak2 etc. Then we moved on to Little India and Chinatown, jalan2 but ended up not buying anything.
Get back to hotel at 12am (sebab dah penat sangat) and dozed off. He texted us at 5am said that he is still running and to expect him at the finishing line around 8am. Gile betul… We sambung tidur like babies…
The obvious things I noticed about Singaporean drivers were: They obey the speed limit law (mostly 70km/h) – you’ll never see a single car speeding more than that limit. Gile betul ah. Kat Malaysia sure dah rempit. One more thing would be, even dah greenlight, but if there’s still pedestrians crossing, the drivers will still wait and give way to the pedestrians. Takde maknanya nak honk2 macam gila suruh the pedestrian cepat2 lalu and the pedestrians pulak akan ambil their own sweet time untuk jalan. Duh? A sight that we will never ever see in Msia.
~Saya pemandu berhemah (kat Spore jela)~
Woke up early and waited for him at the finishing line. Brought our brekkie and ended up buying Subway kat event tu. Last2 kol 10 baru he finished running (that was 13 hours plus!). Dapatla finisher medal. He can’t even walk, let alone talk. Mental down giler lari dalam hujan and sleep walking. Kemas2 barang and then gerak balik hotel. Checked out and made our way to Orchard Rd again, coz he said he wanted to shop. Pergi Orchard Mall, Takashimaya and HMV ke apetah nama dia, tapi he dah tak boleh nak jalan langsung. Kesian jugakla, and the wifey pulak keep on arguing with him over the silliest matter. Adoila. Tak tahan my ears dengar their bickerings. If this is the taste of what marriage is, I think I’d rather pass..
~Before we start masam2 muka~
Things went really awry and heated up later.. Dua-dua dah tkde mood nak jalan and they wanted to go back je. Whateverla..I’m so pissed off with both coz behaving like children.. They’re gonna go back to the same house, and will sleep on the same bed tomorrow kan? So might as well save all the hassle and go straight to the making-up part. Adoila.
Dalam kereta semua orang senyap je. I takde mood coz sorang mengada sangat, sorang lagi bagi muka sangat and we missed the fun we supposed to had! Ikutkan nak je jalan sorang2 and tinggalkan diorang tu berdua tu make up but truth was it wasn’t that easy. As early as 5pm we dah checkout from Singapore without buying nothing! My SD$ still were a lot in my wallet. Last2 beli chocolates je from Cheers. Hampeh..
Stopped at Danga Bay, had lunch/dinner and pushed off around 6pm. Silence filled the air until we reached KL.
Horrid vacay, I might add. That’s why I said threesome is not cool. Even we think we would be fine on our end, but we may never know what’s on the other person’s mind.
I know I wasn’t supposed to bitch about other people’s marriage, but at least PLEASE have the slightest sense of decency to respect the person that had said YES to accompany you. Lantak korangla nak bergaduh lakibini, but please stop for a while and embrace the moment while we still have it. And I don’t know which one I’m madder at; the wife for being so not-understanding that her hubby is too tired after the run (and not hesitated to gave that poker face) or the hubby for letting the wife giving him the hardest of time. Or maybe I’m mad at myself for letting their brawl ruining my vacation! Whatever… Signing off.
