Well, dinner with Mr-I-like-but-don’t-love-who-likes-me (yeah, we really gonna start getting u a nick from now on) last night was indeed successful. I don’t know what’s the occasion (bet it has something to do with me leaving the S* in 3 months’ time *wink*), but I memang pantang sikit orang nak belanja makan ni. Never say NO! Tentatively we wanted to go to Shogun (since I’ve been hankering about the place few months ago), but I politely refused with sole excuse *mahal* even I know he couldn’t care less pun.
SO… Am giving him 3 options : PHOP, Good Evening Bangkok and SushiGroove since they’re on the same floor and sebelah-sebelah pulak tu. So after brief review of the menus and the typical “maybe we come here nextime” manis-manis mulut with the PHOP’s and Good Evening Bangkok’s barista/usherer, we ended up here –> SushiGroove. Sorry, don’t expect a food review from me (read:L-A-M-E) and I bet most of you guys have consumed here pun. So, got nothing to brag about (except the fact that I wasn’t supposed to have to throw out a penny!)
Love the food (minus the sashimi), love the ambience, love the company (he sure knows how to make me laugh alldafreakingtime!). We had the Flying Geisha (fried inari stuffed with spicy tuna and cream cheese), Flying Fish Role (tuna and unagi), Deep Fried Gyoza (chicken dumpling), sashimi combo (i really-really can’t eat this one). Anyway, thank you for the treat (SushiGroove:RM80 and below).
After paying the bill, I unexpectedly said, let’s go PHOP! Feel like eating something sweet. So we decided to choose the cheapest of all in the menu, not due to the money constraint, but we afraid there’s no more space in our tummy . But the ‘Simple yet Elegant’ (read RM5.90 or so) is only served during brekkie time. Last-last we ordered the Ban Icing something2 (3 pancakes with vanilla icecream topped with blueberry sauce, maple syrup and banana), Dutch Baby something-something (with marmalade, lemon and vanilla icecream) and macchiato to quench the thirst. PHOP:RM50 and below.
Chat like there’s no tomorrow. Oh, and we did make a pact. A year from now, (28 April 2009), we will meet up again here, to see what’s the latest menu PHOP have to offer to revalue our relationship. Starting from lastnight, we’ll explore our chances and if we meet other people, then we’ll remains friends. But next year, if we’re still available at that time, maybe we’ll give it a go. Haha. Macam dalam drama minggu ini pulak (dia yang kata). Yes the deal won’t seemed fair to him since I have no promises whatsoever, but I think it’s a win-win situation. Nobody got to lose anything.
Anyhow, after I finished my last spoon of the vanilla ice-cream:
Me: If I say I rasa nak makan tomyam kat Good Evening Bangkok, rasa macam nak sepak tak?
Him:Tak sepak. Tapi you makan, I tapaula. Dah tak larat 🙂
All in all it was a fun night out, definitely one to remember. Gonna missed the times I usually spend in OU after work, since I’ll no longer be working nearby. After this memang berkarat kat KLCC jela.
Ps: Oh dear, my stomach is still bloating till now
